The last two days of humidity and high heat have made me homesick. I know, not mi home yet, but heart is mostly there. I come back with fewer bits of myself every trip. One foot on the ground & my soul restakes its roots into the bare bones of the rock, eating earth, drinking sea, burgeoning lifevines reconnecting mi to that which has ben missing. The beats. Lyrics consistently reminding that paradise is only one side of the coin. Underscoring that the more intense the beauty, the uglier the grimmer side of reality becomes. The music flowing counterpoint with the breath of the ocean, a kajillion part harmony that infests the senses. A singular voice filters through the cacophony of fishermen, hawkers, and trades people. A language foreign yet maddeningly familiar awakening every fibre, every nerve, seeking the source of the low timbre that matches the beating of your heart. There. There he is.

wow. I haven't been here since January. Heh. Been a little busy ;D Synopsis: 5 weeks spent at home (on the rock) spread over two trips in Jan/Feb and May/June. Always enlightening and as always, too short. 2nd trip made with the manchild and we didn't get sick of each other till I was squishing him on the plane ride back to canada. Bathroom reno completed. Condo repainting job, completed. Over 40 bags and and a number of bags of stuff reused recycled or tossed. The daddio had a really rough spot and is now zipping along on his scooter sticking his nose into everyone's business (and I wonder where I get it from). Several new babies and two weddings in the framily. Work went from frenzied to caught up (but only for three weeks) and is heading toward frenzied once again. The children are good, the grand kids a year older and ready to be done the schoolyear tomorrow. Some misplaced friends have been returned, and too many have left since we last chatted. Lost a few pounds, but nowhere near enough to make me happy, yet I still cave for poutine. Bah! I should be able to put the condo on the market next month. Wish me luck, adventuring we go...

Against Internet Censorship

Care of my friend Schmutzie who is presently blacked out in support:
"Due to proposed legislation in the United States (presently SOPA and PROTECT IP), the internet we know and love could change across world borders for the worst. Even though SOPA is proposed legislation in the United States, it has provisions that would treat all Canadian IP addresses as if they were under U.S. jurisdiction, and so it would affect all Canadians.

Many sites, such as Wikipedia and Reddit, are blacked out for 24 hours in protest.

If you live in the U.S., you can take your stand against its internet blacklist bills here: "

We have been bound through the decades by the strands of the geopolitical web to the Americans. We do not have to accept their vision, or lack thereof as our model for the interweb. Or are you afraid?
